Thursday, 26th of October 2023, ride2career started for the fourth time. Tech talents and students had the opportunity to actively get to know innovative technology companies in Dresden and have face-to-face discussions about career opportunities.
All 42 participants met at the Smart-Systems-Hub office near the Bahnhof Neustadt. By bus we first visited pdv-systeme Sachsen, followed by Infineon Technologies, elevait and last but not least SAP. In a short pitch, each company introduced itself, its advantages, and their job offers. Besides the talents enjoyed a variety of goodies from the companies and were given a tour of the offices. Everyone was actively networking, discussing career opportunities and sharing ideas. It was great to see that the first job applications were already being submitted during the event. At the end of the evening, there was a small get-together with food and drinks to bring the event to a pleasant close.
During the get together, we asked participants about their experience to ride2career, and this is what they revealed to us:
‘I just wanted to explore the companies and see what opportunities they have.’ – Sai Chaitanya shared with us. She is doing her master’s in nanoelectronic systems in her third semester. At first, she just wanted to check out the companies and see what they are looking for but in fact, she connected with the representatives at Infineon and found some opportunities where she could fit in.
Also Deeksha shared her experience with us at ride2career. She studies competition logic at the TU Dresden and told us: ‘I expected that I will get better in networking and find some job opportunities that are not only available. Of course, it is better to talk to company professionals to get more insight into the jobs and all the important steps to get there.’ Her favorite part of the day was giving her resume to the companies she was interested in so she could take advantage of the opportunity.
One of our personal highlights of the day was the quiz during the bus ride. This not only shortened the travel time, but also provided a lot of fun and an enjoyable atmosphere. Winning the quiz was rewarded with a brand new #HalloIndia Bag. Of course, the feedback from the talents is also one of our highlights. They have been looking forward to this event for a long time and now they have so much to take away for the future, which is our sincere pleasure.
Our takeaway from the event is that it is a perfect opportunity to help international talent enter the workforce. Therefore, our special thanks go to the participating companies pdv-systeme Sachsen, Infineon Technologies, elevait and SAP, who took the time to network with the talent.
