Case study: Establishing a Welcome Center for companies and international employees

1. Kick-Off

Stakeholders from business, administration, and politics in a district in Saxony seek support to determine whether – and how – a consultation center for attracting and integrating international professionals can be established. The target groups are companies in the district and the international professionals themselves.

2. Challenge

There is a lack of an overview of responsibilities and competencies at the municipal, district, and state levels. Additionally, there is no influential individual driving the institutional development of securing skilled labor.

3. Measures

We evaluate the need for a Welcome Center and develop an analysis of the location structure. Gaps and redundancies are identified, and well-founded recommendations for funding, responsibilities, and resources are developed. In a workshop, we define tasks and responsibilities with all stakeholders to create a viable concept for the Welcome Center.

4. Result

Funding, responsibilities, and an action plan for establishing the Welcome Center are implemented. We continue to provide consulting support during negotiations between stakeholders and offer strategic and operational assistance in setting up the Welcome Center.
