Our Founder & CEO Janett on the Story Behind Our Rebranding

Every beginning holds its own kind of magic.

When intap launched in 2016 – back then still under the name ”Scientists into Business” – our mission was to make Saxony “the place to be”  for international talent. Our focus was on the many international students and graduates at Saxony’s universities. Our mission was clear: to connect them with local industry and encourage them to stay in Saxony after graduation.

Like many startups in their early days, we had neither a budget nor marketing expertise – which is why we were quite pleased with our DIY branding. The name  intap  was born on a warm summer evening in 2017, together with our very first team member, Therese, on the rooftop of the Yenidze building. intap originally stood for International Talent Project. And of course, when you think of graduates, the image of the classic graduation cap comes to mind. In no time, our name and logo were created – and with just a few minor tweaks in color and font – they’ve stuck with us to this day, becoming well known within the international student community.

Anyone who’s followed our journey over the past eight years knows that we’ve continuously evolved our business model. What began as a publicly funded initiative – often perceived as a non-profit – known for hosting the coolest career events for international talent in Saxony, has since become a leading local provider of relocation solutions for companies hiring internationally. In addition, we advise companies, public institutions and administrations on how to create the best possible experience for international professionals – so they not only come, but stay.

While our core vision of making Saxony “the place to be”  for international talent remains, our mission, business model, and target audience have changed over the years. It was time to make these strategic shifts more visible on the outside as well. Under the motto “The cap has to go”,  we teamed up with a design studio to kick off the process – and this is the result you see today.

To make not only Saxony, but all of Germany – and eventually even more locations around the world – the  “place to be”  for international talent, we’re focusing this year on digitalizing our relocation services. One thing, however, will remain unchanged: our commitment to personal, on-the-ground support.

Coming back to the magic of new beginnings: we’re leveling up. This marks the start of the next chapter – intap with a new look and feel, the best team, and a crystal-clear mission:
We make your employees feel at home

When I look back at the past eight years – at that magical beginning, our journey, and all we’ve achieved – I feel nothing but pride. All of it built independently, driven by a diverse team and a strong belief that we are the ones shaping our own future. For me personally, that’s the most powerful motivation to keep working toward our vision: making Saxony the  “place to be”  for international talent.

If you’d like to support us in this vision – or if you’re looking for support for your new international employees – get in touch, follow us on social media, or stop by for a coffee.

🖖 Ciao for now 🖖
